Music Video - Drake - Nice For What

Directed by: Karena Evans

Genre Characteristics - Because the song is a pop/rap song you would expect to see dancing, lights singing, and maybe a group of people in the music video. This is exactly what you see in this music video it includes many things that you would expect to see from a music video in the pop genre.
The video is also very fast paced which is something that is common with music videos from the pop genre.

What is the relationship between the lyrics and the visuals? -
The lyrics in the song are written as if the artist is talking to a girl, the video links to this by including shots of many different girls dancing. There is also a point where the lyrics in the song link to the video when it says "Got to hit the club like you those angles" the video then shows a girl using a phone to take selfies and she takes them in various angles.

What is the relationship between the music and the video? -
The music and the song are very fast paced, this is represented in the music video too as the whole thing is made up of very small and fast clips of different people singing and dancing.
The video also sometimes cuts with the beat of the song on some parts.

Are there close-ups if the artist and star image motifs? -
Close up shots of people dancing with the artist are used and also a slow moving close up of him dancing is included in the music video.
The video relates to other music videos made by the artist as most of his music videos include him or people with him dancing to the music, with colored lighting used.
